I am a seasoned professional with a strong background in business development, marketing, and finance, seeking a full-time role in communications or business development. I bring a proven ability to apply strategic insights and practical skills to drive continuous improvement. Highly motivated and committed to ongoing professional growth, I am eager to contribute meaningfully to a dynamic team.
I was born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario, and my journey has been one of growth, resilience, and creativity. After completing high school in 2005, I attended Algonquin College, where I earned a diploma in Business Accounting in 2007. My career began at Indigenous Services Canada, working in the Residential Schools Resolution Canada program within the Common Experience Payment Department. That experience inspired me to continue my education, and in 2009 I moved to Thunder Bay to pursue an Honours Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Information Systems.
After completing my undergraduate degree, I went on to earn a Master of Science in Management in 2016. During my master’s studies, I published several papers on nursing informatics competencies, combining my passion for research with a desire to contribute to the health and education sectors.
From 2014 to 2019, I worked as Operations Coordinator at the Thunder Bay Community Foundation, a not-for-profit that helps donors create funds to support charities and students. In this role, I managed grants, scholarships, and bursaries; handled marketing and communications; oversaw fund and financial management; drafted policies; coordinated board meetings; and organized donor and recipient events. Alongside this role, I also took on contracts with small not-for-profits, where I provided graphic design, web development, administration, and marketing support. I also had the opportunity to teach Website Development at Confederation College and Lakehead University, something I found both rewarding and inspiring.
After taking time away from work between late 2019 and mid-2021 to be with my children, I became Communications Coordinator for Tikinagan Child and Family Services. This role allowed me to combine my creative and strategic skills as I managed website administration, brand management, digital and traditional marketing, photography, promotional materials, and relationship building. I was fortunate to travel to many communities in Northwestern Ontario, including Webequie First Nation, Wapekeka First Nation, Wunnumin Lake First Nation, Kasabonika First Nation, Eabametoong First Nation, Sioux Lookout, Dryden and more, where I deepened my connection to the people and cultures of the region.
After the loss of my husband, I made the decision to move back to Ottawa to be closer to my family. Through all of life’s challenges and transitions, I’ve remained grounded in my love for community, creativity, and connection. Outside of work, I enjoy fishing, making art in many different forms, listening to music and podcasts, spending time with my family, and playing video games.
